Closure of the Friends Centre

We are extremely sad to hear about The Friends Centre going into administration after 75 years of service to the residents of the Brighton and Hove.

As a centre for learning and support it is a loss for the city. We know many people in the city and beyond will have benefited from the expertise, support, and confidence the staff and volunteers at the Centre have given them over the years.

In recent years the city has lost several Adult Learning Centres which also acted as community spaces and provided social and educational support to the community. We hope the staff and volunteers who were not transferred to the Council will quickly find new employment or volunteering opportunities as their skills are valued and needed.

We offer our thanks to all staff and volunteers who have worked at The Friends Centre,
