Member Directory

Our directory lists details of the range of services and activities provided by our 560+ members, all of which are voluntary or community organisations based in Brighton, Hove, Adur or Worthing.

You can search the directory using an organisation’s name, or search by area, type of service, or client group. This directory can be updated, so if you spot any errors, get in touch with us on info@bhcommunityworks.org.uk or 01273 234023, and we’ll do our best to update it.

If you’re a member you can check or change the details we hold on your organisation.

If you’re from a voluntary or community organisation based in Brighton, Hove, Adur or Worthing, you can apply to join us as a member. There are lots of benefits to being a member, including discounted and prioritised access to our services. Once your application has been approved your details will also appear in this directory.

 

Active LightWorks

Low cost complementary therapy treatment to people with acute or chronic illnesses, disabilities, mental health issues and carers, especially when difficult economic circumstances hinders access to such treatments. We work with community groups and hospitals.

Active Student Volunteering Service

Active Student works with students and staff at the University of Brighton to find them rewarding, safe and supported volunteering opportunities within the local community. Active Student supports volunteers throughout their volunteering experience. Actually Gay Men's Chorus

Actually Gay Men’s Chorus was set up in October 2005 with the specific aim of providing a safe space where gay men can socialize, have fun and develop skills in a unique environment. For 15 years, Actually GMC has helped raise thousands of pounds for local charities.

Actually Gay Men’s Chorus meets on Thursdays at St Andrew’s Church in Waterloo Street, Hove. Rehearsals are led by musical director Samuel Cousins and pianist Simon Gray. They have up to three terms per year, culminating in a charity concert performance.

Adur Collective Community Land Trust

ACCLT is a community led and supported group committed to delivering truly affordable homes to the people of Adur. Any homes we develop will be asset locked and remain in the community in perpetuity.

Adur Community Gateway Hub

Neighbours helping neighbours through covid and beyond. A wrap-around service with food first approach, supporting with benefits, mental health, housing and financial worries.

Adur East Lions Club

Our Club is part of the International Association of Lions Clubs - the World’s largest community service organisation. The aim of the Lions is to raise money to support national and international causes. However, much of our work involves helping those around us, making a difference to people’s everyday lives. Alongside our valuable fundraising for community causes, we share an enjoyable social scene, with many friendly events and gatherings in the Adur district.

Adur Special Needs Project

Weekend play schemes for children aged 5-15 years who have special/additional needs and disabilities.

Adur Worthing Poverty Truth Commission

To bring together two distinct groups of people: senior civic and business leaders; and an equal number of people who struggle against poverty on a daily basis who are representative of local people NGOs in the community. A 2-year project period.
